1-Health: Clinical Treatment, Awareness Campaign and Capacity Building-

No.1    EDUCATION

A         Monitoring of the Community Schools, Chung & Ashyana Schools were also rehabilitated by CEWS (2001 & 2024 respectively) from ghost to Topper of the community, now students studying there Over 7000. Further extended Monitoring & Evaluation to other over 20-community schools

B        Education through Health (2001-2024):-

Awareness raising to adopt Preventive health measures of over 20-community schools to safeguard of Staff and Students health (benefitted over 10,000)                    

No.2    HEALTH: Serving on the following strategy 2003-2025:-
  1. Caring and Curing the Acute and Chronic Patients
  2. Researched by attending CMEs on Gyne & Obs, Skin, Diabetes, Infertility, MNCH, Ortho including Pain Management & Communicable diseases honored by medical associations.
  3. Raising Preventive Awareness of Acute & Chronic Diseases: Managing Awareness medical lectures and seminars for community people that raise awareness to know that how to avoid health disorders.
  4. Referral to other concerned health centers

  1. Raising awareness to resolve disputes through dialogue to avoid violence and litigation.
  2. Raising awareness to minimize gaps of disputed couples to avoid separation
  3. Counseling for disputed couples to avoid children to suffer from either side
  4. Referring to authorities to resolve grievances of the public

II          Past Projects Served-1997-2024

 

CEWS has main activities, the following:

·       In the health sector, CEWS is very active in the fight against communicable diseases which remains a prime cause of morbidity and mortality in Pakistan. It is also very active in developing health centers which fight chronic diseases, such as this project which entails the establishment of a PHC  with Medical College including a Polyclinic with Diagnostic facility .

·       Promoting education in the less developed and neglected localities in Pakistan, through the sensitization of children and families on the importance of Education, Upgrading of community schools to bring education closer to the less privileged, Monitoring and evaluating of the community schools, together with adequate follow-up of the performance of pupils and students.

·       CEWS is also an activist in the fight for human rights; gender equality and anti-racism campaigns, through massive awareness to the general public and solving such disputes when they arise.

·      Furthermore, CEWS develops empowerment strategies to empower young girls and women in the society, and strengthen their capabilities to enable them make a living, as they are most vulnerable to joining criminal activities.

Past Major Activities :
Primary Health & Other HIV/AIDS Prevention Services :

i.               Mapping exercises and raising awareness of HIV/AIDS to overseas employees and their family of the district of Dera Ghazi Khan (statistics are enclosed as well) 

ii.              Coordinating to bridge linkages between Female Sex Workers/Overseas Employees and making referrals of screening of HIV/AIDS of the district of  DG-Khan

iii.             Mapping of Female Sex Workers and Injecting Drug Users (IDUs), district Lahore of 25-vulnerable communities (statistics are enclosed)

iv.            Launched campaign to be at a platform of marginalized population

            v.         Rehabilitation of Ashyana community school which was just like a Ghost

                        Established a health clinic for Women and Children.

vi.        Educated out of school deserving children

vii.        Launched a campaign to protect women’s rights.

viii.       Rehabilitated a ghost community school

ix.        Facilitated Micro-Credit schemes for poor women, and provided them

            Micro-Credit facility on minimum markup (10%).

x          Seminars and meetings are conducted on women issues to 

            minimize the discrimination and violence against them

xi.        Taken steps to protect natural environment

            xii.       Identified social problems and eliminated of the same

Successfully completed the following major projects of i.e.(Health / Education / Human Rights / Environment etc):

 

EDUCATION PROJECTS (Formal, Non-Formal & Vocational):
  • Established Primary Level Schools for out of School / Street Children in Mouza Kora Pind and Mouza Chung, district Lahore, Pakistan (1998-2000)
  • Rehabilitated a Ghost Community School, Chung Khurd, district Lahore (2002)
  • Rehabilitated Gipsy families children through Education, Mouza Gohawa, district Lahore (2003).
  • Established a Vocational (Stitching) School for Women/Girls, Mouza Gohawa, district Lahore (2006).
  • Established a Computer Training Center for Women, Mouza Kohaar, district Lahore (2007). 
HEALTH PROJECTS (Preventive Campaign and Curative care):
  • Established a Health Center, Mouza Gohawa (Nai Abadi Gohawa), district Lahore (2003).
  • Conucted monthly Medical Camps i.e. Gyne, Eyes, HIV/AIDS, Family Planning etc in Mouza Chung, Mouza Gohawa & Mouza Kohaar, district lahore (2004).
  • Established a Maternal and Neonatal Child Health (MNCH) Center, Mouza Keer Khurd, district Lahore (2003).
  • Launched a research of a district level Awareness / Preventive Campaign through mapping, Counselling, Testing and Referral against HIV/AIDS of overseas employees, district DG, Khan to facilities available in big cities (June, 2006-Nov.2007).
  • Conducted Seminars against HIV/AIDS including Focus Group Discussions, In depth interviews and tribal heads corner meetings, district Lahore and district DG Khan (2005-2009).
MOBILIZATION, GENERATION AND CAPACITY BUILDING THROUGH 50 CBOs

Established a network of 50 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) through ensuring  Capacity Building of community population to serve 3.5 million population

RIGHTS AWARENESS (against violence of women & Child Labor)
  • Launched a Campaign against Child Labor, Mouza Kora Pind and Mouza Chung, district Lahore (2000-2001).
  • Launched a research based campaign about Human Rights Protection i.e. Women and Children in Mouza Chung, district Lahore (2001-2002).
  • Established a Women Help Line Center i.e. Prevention of Violence against Women in Mouza Chung, Mouza Gohawa & Mouza Kohaar, district Lahore (2003).
  • Establishment of Women Helpline Cener, Bedian Road, lahore (2000-2010) 

  

ENVIRONMENT PRESERVATION: 
  • Launched a research based camapign of Environment Preservation i.e. removal of liquid / solid wastes and infrastructure development, Mouza Chung, Mouza Gohawa & Mouza Kohaar, Mouza Keer, district lahore (2002-2010).
  • Launched a Mobilizing campaign to motivate and educate people to own and sustain development programs initiated by the CEWS in district Lahore and district DG Khan (2000-2010).
MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES (Infrastructure Development)::
  • Conduction of survey of Sui-Gas of Al-Flah Town, Bedian Road Lahore (2003) 
    Established/Served a franchise postal and NADRA services in Al-Flah Town, Bedian Road, lahore (2002-2004)
  • Development of Al-Flah Town Road (Bedian Road to Roundabout, Al-Flah Town), Lahore (2006)
  • Development of Bedian Road (Bhtta Chowk to Manawala), Lahore (2008)
  • Supply of Sui Gas of Haji Park, Bedian Road, lahore (2010)
  • Approval of Sui Gas of Nai-Abadi Gohawa, Bedian Road, lahore (2010)
  • Approval of route of public transport i.e. Premier Bus (R.A.Bazar to Heir), Bedian Road, lahore (2003)
  • Removal of solid waste of Chung Khurd, Al-Flah Town and Bhtta Chowk through partnership with Cantonment Board (2006)
  • Preservation of park land of Al-Flah Town park Bedian Road, lahore through court and community sensitization (2003-2005)
  • Supply of electricity, sui gas, sewerage and development of streets in Yousaf Colony, Gadaai, district DG Khan (2004-2010
